The Product Category Officer (Marketing) plays a pivotal role in driving growth and profitability for a specific product category within our company. You will wear multiple hats, blending marketing expertise with market insights to develop and execute strategic initiatives that maximize category awareness, drive demand, and solidify our competitive edge. You will be a data-driven leader, a champion for your category, and a key collaborator across multiple teams.
Responsibilities:
Market & Competitor Analysis:
Conduct in-depth research to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Identify potential growth opportunities and white spaces within the category.
Monitor and analyze competitor campaigns and pricing strategies.
Strategic Planning & Development:
Develop and implement long-term marketing plans for your assigned product category.
Define clear category positioning and messaging to resonate with target customers.
Collaborate with product development and cross-functional teams to launch new products and optimize existing ones.
Marketing Campaigns & Activation:
Own the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., digital, social media, influencer marketing, PR).
Manage campaign budgets and track performance metrics, making data-driven optimizations to maximize ROI.
Create compelling content and marketing materials that showcase product benefits and drive engagement.
Branding & Messaging:
Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning for your category across all communication channels.
Develop brand guidelines and assets to maintain brand identity and voice.
Metrics & Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for your category against established goals.
Regularly analyze data and share insights with stakeholders to inform future strategies.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate marketing efforts and results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on product category management or B2B marketing.
Strong understanding of marketing principles, including market research, segmentation, positioning, and campaign development.
Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns across various channels.
Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems preferred.
