The Procurement Engineer for an expressway project is responsible for managing the procurement process of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the construction of the expressway. This role ensures that all procurement activities are conducted in a cost-effective, timely, and compliant manner to support the successful completion of the project.
Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning:
Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans to meet project requirements and timelines.

Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best value for the project.

Tendering and Contracting:
Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other tender documents. Evaluate bids and proposals, and recommend contract awards.

Cost Control:
Monitor and manage procurement budgets. Ensure cost-effective procurement practices and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Compliance:
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.

Coordination:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and client to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment to suppliers.

Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain disruptions.

Reporting:
Provide regular updates and reports on procurement status, budget adherence, and any issues impacting the project timeline or budget.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or expressway

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read and understand engineering and construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
