Job Description
Seeking a suitably qualified and reliable
Process Technician who will be responsible to safely monitor, operate, and manage gold room processes and equipment to achieve the set target, to produce high quality Dore Bullion, maintain the gravity and gold room equipment, and optimizing its performance and efficiency. Also to ensure all equipment related to the Gold Room Facility are well maintained. The position will report to the Senior Metallurgist.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Conform to the safety standards, operation procedures and security protocols as set;
- Report any safety, environmental hazards and security incidents inside the Gold Room;
- Ensure that the products produced under supervision meet all specifications set by the Gold room Metallurgist targeting the highest purity of the Super-Concentrates with shake table operation, and Dore Bullion through Smelting;
- Maintains detailed reports of operation completing and updating log sheets, logbooks and checklists accurately and on time each shift;
- Checks measurements, adjusts and carries out minor maintenance of gold room and gravity equipment when directed;
- Report to supervisor any damage to equipment or at-risk situation that could lead to plant shutdown;
- Perform minor Preventive Maintenance and servicing of the Gold room and Gravity Equipment;
- Assist in other tasks for instance circuit sampling and survey as required; and
- Always maintain excellent standards of housekeeping on every area of gold room in accordance with the Work Area Standard.
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;
- At least High School graduate, College graduate is preferred;
- With a valid Professional Driver's License & National Certificate in Drivin;
- Gold room operating experience is an advantage;
- Able to operate equipment such as gravity concentrator, pump, and barring furnace maintenance and troubleshooting;
- Have a strong work ethic, respectful, honest at work;
- Physically fit to carry or lift 20kgs. objects; and
- Must be able to achieve set goals, including utilizing and organizing given resources.
