Reporting directly to the Associate/Account Director, the Account Manager is a PR professional immersed in the day-to-day execution of account deliverables and in establishing good relationships with the client.
Unlike an Account Executive, an Account Manager is expected to be fully immersed in the agency environment. The Account Manager must be knowledgeable and adept in handling writing, event management, research, and media relations requirements of the job.
Other positions of the same purpose are a Senior Account Executive and Account Executive.
Supports the Account Director in establishing client confidence and trust in the servicing team
- Familiarize himself with the scope of work of each of his designated accounts
Attends client meetings and prepares needed reports and presentations- Reports progress of deliverables and escalates issues, if any, to line manager
Produces a wide range of editorial materials that reflects the client's or brand's personality- Performs research tasks to gather relevant and credible sources for presentations and editorial requirements
Establishes and sustains media connections through interactions during media rounds, roundtables, exclusive pitches, press conferences, and other media events
- Effectively manages events for client's campaigns
Knows the creative production process and works closely with internal or external suppliers- Establishes, sustains, and manages professional relationships with industry experts, digital influencers, bloggers and other personalities that may be tapped for client's events
Establishes, sustains, and manages a database of various suppliers that may be tapped for client's events
- Provides support to the Senior Account Manager and Associate/Account Director in crafting strategies and directions for the accounts by providing comprehensive research, identifying insights, and suggesting recommendations that will be responsive to both the clients requirements as well as the current media landscape
