The Service Engineer is responsible for providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches. Performs technical and administrative work in supporting and maintaining the Point of Sales (POS) systems and related devices for the client. Work involves maintenance and support of all computers (servers, desktops, cash registers) databases, networked and standalone printers, label printers, scanning equipment and all other IT equipment.
- Provides technical support to customers for Point of Sale software, systems, and hardware.
Conduct troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to POS terminals. Check terminal appearance, connection, working condition and perform test transactions for all card brands.
Accomplish a service activity report for service activity done; attach a test transaction receipt as proof that work is correct and efficient.
Relay concerns regarding client's satisfaction, POS terminal performance, and suggestions for service improvement.
Perform other tasks/projects such as reprogramming, site visit, software upgrade, terminal swapping and pullout activity as requested by client.
Protect and secure company issued items as well as those provided by the client such as terminals, peripherals and other supplies.
Turnover pulled out/defective spare units to head office at the end of every workday.
Timely and professionally handle field service calls and issues arising from the field service visits.
Provide excellent customer service, listening carefully to customer concerns.
Perform related work as assigned.
A. Basic Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Services or related technology, or corresponding knowledge through work experience.
At least 3 years experience in customer service company or familiar with POS
systems.
B. Major Requirements & Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge of PC hardware and software - installing, configuring, diagnosing and troubleshooting.
Competency in Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Applications, and
desktop software
Intermediate knowledge in LAN, WAN, Computer/PC hardware, internet systems, tools and concepts.
Has knowledge of various project management methodologies is an advantage
