ROLE FUNCTION AND PURPOSE Champions and embeds strong environment practices to the organization to achieve sustainable, compliant and reliable operations.
Ensures compliance to all relevant Environment requirements
Implement a project issued ECC Condition to theassigned project based on Philippine legal requirements and PMI EHS Management, Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Provide functional support in connection to all Environment related issues and educate all project employees about the importance of adhering to the company's EHS management policies and procedures.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends to the requirements of the establishment or agency prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities including the application and securing of necessary permits and renewal.
- Monitor activities pertaining the installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities with the end in view of ensuring their compliance with the air, noise and water quality standards; the PCO and the head of the establishment shall be responsible for any violations of P.D. 984 and its implementing rules and regulations committed by the establishment where the offices is employed;
- Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the establishment
- Report within reasonable time to the Authority the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual date of completion/repair and operation;
- Promptly submit validate/certified as correct by the General Manager periodic reports as stipulated in Section 7 hereof or as required by the Authority (otherwise, said report shall not be accepted as evidence in pollution case);
- As a liaison officer with the Authority, he shall keep himself abreast with the requirements of the
Authority and the latest available technology on prevention, control and abatement of pollution;
- Maintain liaison with the city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers;
- Attend the meetings for Pollution Control Officers which may from time to time be called by the
Authority;
- Facilitate compliance of the establishment he represents with the requirements that may from time to time prescribed by the Authority;
- Recommend to the management theinstallation and operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities; and
- Handle other matters of environmental concerns as required by his/her employer.
- PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Knowledgeable in facilitating solid waste disposal, hazardous waste including emergency response
- Familiarity in facilitating ambient test, Stack Emission Test, water sampling, monitoring sewage treatment facility
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools
- QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations
Familiarity with LLDA and EMB DENR Laws and Regulations
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
College Graduate (any course) with at least 2 years relevant experience
PCO Training Certificate holder from accredited training agency
Certificate of attendance from the Continuing Environmental Education Program (CEEP) is an advance but not necessary required
