Job SummaryThe Pollution Control Officer (PCO) is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all environmental laws and regulations set forth by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and other relevant agencies in the Philippines. The PCO will monitor pollution control measures, manage environmental programs, and promote sustainable practices within the organization.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations in the Philippines.
- Secure and renew necessary environmental permits and licenses from DENR and other regulatory bodies.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation to authorities, including the Self-Monitoring Report (SMR) and Compliance Monitoring Report (CMR).- Implement measures to reduce or eliminate sources of pollution, including waste segregation and proper disposal methods.
Develop and implement the company's Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for new projects and activities.
Promote and implement waste reduction, recycling, and resource conservation programs.- Conduct training sessions for employees on environmental laws, policies, and pollution control measures.
Raise awareness about environmental sustainability and best practices within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of pollution control activities, monitoring data, and inspections.
Prepare detailed reports on environmental performance, compliance status, and incident investigations.- Ensure all environmental documents are properly filed and accessible for audits and inspections.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.- Certification as a Pollution Control Officer (PCO) accredited by DENR is required.
Proven experience in environmental management and pollution control in the Philippines.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine environmental laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Strong communication and training abilities.
