Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop plumbing system designs, including potable water distribution, sanitary waste, vent, stormwater, and natural gas systems.

  • Create detailed plans, schematics, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

  • Conduct calculations and simulations to determine the specifications and performance of plumbing systems.

  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate plumbing designs into overall project plans.

  • Prepare and review project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Monitor and inspect the installation of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

  • Ensure all plumbing designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices.

  • Conduct testing and inspection of plumbing systems to ensure they meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to plumbing systems and components.

  • Document findings and prepare detailed technical reports.

  • Develop maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure the reliability and longevity of plumbing systems.

  • Provide technical support and guidance during the operation and maintenance of plumbing systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and provide progress updates.

  • Present design concepts and project plans to clients and stakeholders.

  • Address client concerns and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
  • Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Plumbing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Plumbing Engineer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

  • Proficiency in plumbing design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and others.

  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
