Job Summary: We're looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design and develop Terraform modules and processes that enable our operations teams to manage infrastructure as code efficiently. Additionally, you will work on self-service portals, empowering users to provision their own resources seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Terraform modules and scripts to automate infrastructure management.
- Collaborate with IT operations and engineering teams to understand infrastructure needs and translate them into codified solutions.
- Develop self-service portals to provide users with the tools to provision and manage their own resources following established IT policies and guidelines.
- Ensure that all modules and processes adhere to best practices in infrastructure as code.
- Provide support and training to teams on using Terraform and self-service portals.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our infrastructure management processes.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure as code concepts.
- Proven experience using Terraform Cloud / Terraform Enterprise preferred.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred).
- Experience with cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
- Good understanding of using Azure DevOps as CI/CD tool of choice.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Understanding of security best practices in infrastructure management.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Background in Infrastructure Management:
- Compute: Nutanix, VMware.
- Network: Cisco ACI, Cisco NXOS.
- Network Security: Palo Alto, F5.
