GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Planning and Design Manager oversees the progression of the building projects, from the conceptual design stage to the final construction phase; to ensure that the structure adheres to these plans and meets both aesthetic and safety standards. The incumbent will also work with the Business Development Department to understand their design requirements and translate them into blueprints and plans, using their knowledge of architecture and engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with the Business Development to gather and define project requirements, goals, and objectives;
- Creates architectural designs and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on the identified project requirement to communicate the designs and plans;
- Coordinates interdisciplinary team of professionals including architects, engineers, surveyors, and contractors to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the project plan;
- Monitors progress to ensure the structure adheres to the architectural plan to meet both aesthetic and safety standards;
- Manages design resources by monitoring the timeline and managing the progress of architectural projects; to ensure that they are completed within the prescribed time and allotted budget;
- Conducts regular site visits to oversee the quality of work and to determine if the contractor adheres to the design plan;
- Ensures that the design projects are compliant with the relevant government regulations and local permits, addressing environmental, health, and safety requirements;
- Prepares project reports, maintains records, and makes necessary adjustments to plans as needed;
- Stays updated on the latest building codes, zoning laws, and other relevant regulations to ensure the design complies with all legal requirements.
JOB PROFILE
Educational Background
- Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Architecture
Professional Background
- Must have at least 8 years working experience in real estate or design firm, specializing in architectural design, design management, design leadership
- Must be a Registered and Licensed Architect
Knowledge Requirements
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge on using different computer-aided design software such as CAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop, Revit, ArchiCAD, etc. to create architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models.
- Must be knowledgeable of different local and international building codes, zoning laws, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
- Must have a thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of high-end buildings, residences, and other related structures.
