Summary Of Role
SunPower is seeking for a
Team Lead (TL) to help our Philippine controllership and tax team with its various and on-going projects and tasks. The candidate will report to the Philippine Controller and will support different areas of controllership and tax.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare the annual audited financial statements of SPRQ.
- Provide review on accounting activities (e.g., account recon, journal entries, etc.).
- Review tax calculations and filings.
- Ensure timely filings and payments of various taxes (ITR, WTC, EWT, FWT, VAT and others)
- Work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure to meet all statutory and other compliances.
- Assist the Philippine Controller in drafting tax consulting opinions, assessment protest letters and advocate tax assessment cases with the BIR.
- Assist the Philippine Controller in ensuring compliance and adherence to controls for statutory & regulatory compliance as required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, PEZA, BOI, SEC, BOC, local governments and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform other ad hoc controllership and tax related duties that may be assigned.
Related Experience And Educational Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree: Accountancy/Law or equivalent.
- At least 5 years tax or audit experience (Big 4 experience strongly preferred).
- Applicants must be willing to work in Southwoods Binan, Laguna on a hybrid basis.
- Experience in Taxation (Preferred but not required).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work with people in all departments of the company and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to think creatively and to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Desire to work in a flexible team-based environment.
- Not afraid to roll up the sleeves, while being able to retain big picture thinking.

- This is an FTE position.
- Candidate must be willing to work in Binan Laguna
- Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines.
- Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)
- Candidate must be flexible to work on a night shift schedule supporting North America region.
- Candidate will be on flexible work arrangement (combination of onsite and remote work) (if applicable depending on the nature of the job)
- Tool of Trade: Laptop/Desktop, Extended Monitor, Headset (as needed)
