Job description- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dispenses drugs for in-patient and out-patient.
- Checks prescriptions for proper dosage and availability.
Ensures proper packaging, distribution and storage of vials, ampules, and other drug preparations.- Encodes of invoices to stock cards.
Orders and maintains stocks of pharmaceutical products.
- Ensures drug purity and strength, and make sure that drugs do not interact in a harmful way.
Provides expertise about the composition of drugs, their chemical, biological, and physical properties, and their manufacture and uses.- Counsels patients and answer questions about prescription drugs, including questions regarding possible side effects or interactions among various drugs.
Creates cash voucher of the sales invoice received from emergency purchased drugs.
- Makes daily sales report of charge slips, cash slips, and credit memos.
Answers telephone inquiries about drug preparations and information from the doctors and other allied health professionals.- Records all purchased medicines delivered by the company on the pharmacy invoices logbook.
Ensures accuracy of every prescription that is filled.
- Participates in the annual inventory of pharmaceutical products within the pharmacy.
Assures that the right drug is given to the right patient at the right time with the right route of administration.- Compounds IV admixtures, papertabs, etc. with correct quantity and proper label.
Frequently oversees pharmacy students serving as interns in preparation for graduation and licensure.
Qualification/s
- Graduate of Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy
Must be a Registered Pharmacist
