A PET/CT works as a member of a larger team of medical professionals, including physicians, specialists, other nurses, and radiology technicians. As PET/CT Nurse/ MT work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, being able to effectively communicate is essential. With the amount of collaboration between other medical professionals and a high turnover in patients, one must be easily adaptable. A PET/CT Nurse/ MT is primarily responsible for the assessment, planning, and care of patients who undergo diagnostic procedure and radiation therapy. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus.

PET/CT Radiologic Technologists are highly skilled professionals and foremost duty is to perform body scanning to check for areas showing signs of abnormality. After performing these tasks, they hand over the findings to physicians who in turn check the patient's condition with the help of these recorded images. PET/CT Radiologic Technologists also keep a track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans. The reason to be careful or considering safety measures is that patients and operators are constantly exposed to rays. To safeguard, PET Technologists have to make sure that the equipment is in a proper working condition by examining and inspect machines carefully and routinely. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus.
