Xometry is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our company's accounting/finance department. You'll be responsible for supporting all aspects of payroll operations. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Human Resources, Tax and Legal.
Responsibilities:
- Processes bi-weekly multi-State payroll, including the collection of timesheet data, validating employee changes and processing New Hires & Terminations
- Reviews, audits, and makes corrections as needed to Timecard data and prepares Timecard data for imports, which includes paid time off, leave of absence, and various other pay types
- Ensures timesheets are processed and approved by manager timely and follow up as necessary
- Process new hires, state-to-state movements, terminations, status changes, LOAs, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, and special pays
- Maintains the confidentiality and accuracy of all payroll records
- Liaison with Human Resource staff regarding payroll related issues to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely
- Validate New Hire Tax Setup in the Payroll system for accuracy
- Process monthly Stock Vesting's and Exercises through payroll for reporting of wages and taxes
- Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to employees with questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process
- Ensures legal compliances with the state and federal regulations
- Maintain payroll records as well as employee records
- Actively participate in any system implementations as it relates to payroll processing or data
- Supports Director of Payroll and Payroll Manager as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both written and verbal forms
- Bachelor's degree in finance, human resource management, or a similar field
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) heavily desired
- Has worked with public companies and/or has worked with equity in the past
- Experience administering deductions, garnishments, FSAs, HSAs, retirement plans, and benefits contributions
- Experience with quarterly audits and year end reconciliations
- Experience running multi state payroll and creating reports
- Highly proficient with Payroll software ADP Workforce Now
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with labor legislation and federal tax laws
- The ability to ethically work with employee-sensitive information
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with team members
