Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all day-to-day Payroll processing for bi weekly and monthly payroll, conducting payroll audits to ensure adherence to application policies and regulations
- Resolve complex payroll processing & employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing
- Answer payroll and tax related questions from employees
- Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and all local regulations
- Support Monthly and Quarterly close by reconciling payroll accounts
- Review and analyze month/quarter end compensation accruals and expenses by region, state, franchise brand or restaurant
- Review and implement process improvements for employee adherence to published T&E policies and audits
- Maintenance and management of transactions related to 606 commissions
- Collaborate with HR on employee hires, changes, and terminations
- Collaborate with Benefits on payroll related deductions and benefit changes and updates
- Collaborate with the team when needed to scale global payroll operations
- Support payroll audits for execution of statutory and US GAAP financial statements
- Assist in transitioning international payroll operations over to Workday and help with implementation processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance, CPA or CPP is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years general accounting experience
- Advanced PC and/or Mac book skills, specifically with Word, Excel spreadsheets, Google Docs and downloading, importing and exporting files and google suite
- Knowledge of operational accounting processes
- Knowledge of operational payroll processes
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- Ability to collaborate & communicate effectively with internal partners on issues and provide recommendations
- Possess excellent attention to detail; excellent analytical, and reconciliation skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Strong problem solver, possessing the ability to see how the different pieces of the puzzle fit together
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
