Job Description
As a Payroll Officer-Assistant Accountant, you'll manage weekly payroll, process financial data, reconcile accounts, and support month-end and year-end reporting. This role aims to onboard an experienced Assistant Accountant capable of working collaboratively within a team while maintaining autonomy when required.

Shift: Day Shift, Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Work Setup: Permanent WFH
Salary: PHP 30,000 to 35,000

Your Daily Tasks
- Assist the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll processes and support.
- Provide dedicated support to the Financial Controller by preparing financial accounts, performing data entry, and monitoring debtor and creditor payments and receipts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.
- Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial accounts.
- Ensure all data entry and financial records are accurate and true.
- Provide support to the Head of Finance and Payroll Manager by preparing weekly payroll, financial accounts, data entry, monitoring debtor and creditor payments and receipts, performing bank reconciliations, managing cash flows, and assisting with month-end and year-end account preparation.
- Maintain payroll information by designing systems, directing data collection, calculation, and entry.
- Process and complete payroll functions, including pays, taxes, superannuation, pay slips, end-of-year statements, overtime, and RDOs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, EBAs, and modern awards.
- Receive and review timesheets, ensuring accurate coding.
- Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes to details, coding, and superannuation.
- Assist with processing and lodging industry payments, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Incolink, CoInvest, Protect, and WorkCover, according to guidelines.
- Process payments and invoices accurately and within designated timeframes.
- Undertake month-end reconciliations and fulfill reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to verify financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, make corrections, and prepare regular accounting reports on the company's financial progress.
- Utilize working knowledge of Xero, Excel, and front-end CRMs effectively.

Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek:
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a similar field (or equivalent qualification) is desirable.
- CPA/CA certification or actively working towards the qualification is preferred.
Experience
- Payroll experience is highly desirable but can be learned on the job.
- Knowledge of recruitment and workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in a similar position is highly advantageous.
- Experience working in construction, labor hire, or a related environment.
- Proficiency in using computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, online applications, and recruitment databases.
Skills
- High-level accounting skills are essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Xero is preferred.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Applications in a professional setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, especially when collaborating with remote staff.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
