Job Description

Role: Payroll Associate
  • Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
  • Calculate and interpret employee hours across multiple awards accurately.
Check manual timesheets for accuracy against client interpretations.
  • Manage payroll for allocated office locations, streamlining processes.
Liaise with sales and resource employees for missing or inconsistent information.
  • Process and confirm payroll to meet daily deadlines.
Knowledge of policies, procedures, award interpretation, EBA, or Modern Awards.
  • Handle clocking or usage queries with Time and Attendance system.
Provide time target support, client, and management reporting.
  • Perform additional ad hoc duties as required.
  • Internal Customer Service:
  • Maintain regular and meaningful contact with branch and brand contacts.
Initiate discussions about process improvement within the Payroll Team or branch.
  • Other:
  • Proactively stay updated on legislation.
Be vigilant for new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to discussions on business development and company performance.
Ensure compliance with laws and operate with absolute integrity.
  • Qualifications/Level of Expertise for Payroll Associates:
  • Minimum qualification: Year 10 or higher.
Systems experience: Payroll/Accounting system proficiency and intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
Familiarity with policies, procedures, award interpretation, EBA, or Modern Awards.
  • Strong understanding of Time and Attendance systems.
Ability to interpret and stay updated on relevant legislation.
  • Proven track record in accurate payroll processing and confirmation.
Excellent communication skills for internal customer service and collaboration with sales and resource employees.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
Ability to handle ad hoc duties and contribute meaningfully to business development discussions.
  • Commitment to ensuring compliance with laws and maintaining absolute integrity in all activities.
  • Reports To: Payroll Manager
