Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Research Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, collecting, and organizing legal documents and information across various cases within the firm. The role requires familiarity with US law and a strong ability to manage legal files, drafts, and deadlines. This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for law, is highly organized, and has experience working with US-based companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and draft routine legal documents, including correspondence and case-related materials.
  • Create, maintain, and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Facilitate attorneys compliance with deadlines by maintaining organized schedules, tracking important dates, and sending timely reminders.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on US law, statutes, case law, and relevant regulations.
  • Assist with document preparation for court filings, meetings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
  • Perform general administrative support as needed to assist attorneys and other legal professionals in the firm.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of3 years to 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal.
  • Degree in Legal Management, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in US law, particularly in the context of corporate or commercial matters.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with US-based clients or companies.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and legal databases.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Experience with the application of both state employment and state tax laws in a corporate or commercial context.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
