Job Summary
Oversees the production of water for the client by supervising the operation and maintaining water purification, treatment, storage, and distribution equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for managing and directing the daily operation and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems, and make process control and system integrity decisions for the Project Mission
- Oversee all Operators in the performance of their duties
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures, Department Operating Procedures, on the job training manuals and documentation to guide the project wide water purification mission
- Respond to and address issues and concerns of the client, government agencies, and company management
- Ensure all water produced and distributed meets or exceeds water quality standards IAW (In Accordance With) PWS (Performance Statement Work) requirements
- Enforce safety standards and conduct on-the-job-training
- Must make rapid, appropriate decisions to improve simple to complex problems, keeping safety a priority
- Recognize and correct issues which can result from inefficient operations of equipment
- Assist in planning for future water demands and provide guidance for proposals to the government
Knowledge & Skills
- Highly effective computer and communication skills
- Possess advanced water plant hydraulic and electromechanical operation and troubleshooting skills
- Possess advanced understanding of water treatment techniques and equipment
- Ability to recognize symptoms of equipment maintenance issues (i.e. membrane fouling/scaling and take corrective actions and provide critical path maintenance planning and support)
- Mechanical ability to facilitate diagnosis and repair or water treatment equipment; calibrate and maintain inline instrumentation
- Demonstrate a proficiency in basic verbal and written English language skills
Experience & Education
- Must possess and maintain a current/valid certification as a Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution Operator through completion of professional development courses as specified in a U.S. State-approved water system operator certification program
- Must possess the necessary education, experience, training, and other qualification requirements for certification as a Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator
- Experience with DoD 4715.5-G OEBGD (Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document), Philippines National Standard for Drinking Water (PNSDW), and TB MED 577 guidelines preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs. unassisted, and work in extreme climate, in awkward positions, safely with hazardous chemicals, on day/night shift, and must be able to work independently and in a team environment
