The Operations Team Lead will perform the functions outlined below:
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with our prime broker, custodian, and executing brokers to ensure proper settlement of trades across multiple asset classes and markets
- Daily capture of trade activity and lifecycle maintenance
- Review daily cash and position reconciliations; research discrepancies and determine course of action for resolution
- Identify high touch events and escalate appropriately
- Interface with Accounting, Tax, Treasury and BDIR functions on ad-hoc related tasks and requests
- Initiate wires for internal and external cash movements, along with the necessary allocations.
- Setup new wire templates, securities, and other reference data
- Support oversight of key operational partners such as Loan Servicers, Asset Managers, and Third-Party Administrators
- Assist with the coordination and preparation of all periodic and ad hoc liquid investment reporting
- Participate in Liquid Operations related projects and initiatives
- Manage the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor and assist team members in the daily operation aspects of the project including reviewing the status and performance against targets, performing root cause analysis of variances and making improvements to meet the targets
- Perform daily and monthly auditing of work processes
- Coach, guide and train team members by providing excellent service
- Assist in hiring, selection and training of new team members.
- Field ad hoc requests as necessary
Requirements
Qualifications:
- College degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study
- 3-5 years of of work experience within financial services, preferably with exposure to deal closing / operations / middle office / accounting functions
- Knowledgeable about financial products and terms: Bonds, ABS, FX forwards and FX options, Bank Loans, CDS, and Equities Microsoft Office: Word and Excel are a must - required
- Experience in Geneva and Black Mountain Systems is preferred
- 2+ years of Supervisory experience
- Familiarity with workflows and terminology for settlements at DTC, Euroclear, Clearstream and ICE Link
- Strong math and analytical skills required with attention to detail
- Personal characteristics of self-confidence, resourcefulness, self-motivation and discipline
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with cross-functional teams
