Job Description

The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple supermarket locations, with a focus on maximizing efficiency, ensuring high standards of customer service, optimizing processes, and driving profitability. Additionally, the Operations Director will lead and manage key projects related to store operations and collaborate closely with other departments at the head office to ensure seamless integration of business strategies. This role requires strong leadership to guide and inspire teams, manage budgets, and achieve the company's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Project Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in retail operations management or FMCG industry with exposure to retail, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects within a retail environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership and team management, good collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of retail management software and tools.
  • Strong in planning and disciplined execution of programs across a big organization Process oriented and data driven

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of all supermarket locations, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain operations to ensure product availability.
  • Ensure that all stores meet or exceed customer service standards.
  • Overall execution of store operations plans, ensuring we exceed customer expectations for store readiness, customer service and delivery, visual display and assortment, cleanliness and safety.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop store managers and their teams to achieve high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for all operational aspects of the business.
  • Analyze financial data, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Meet/exceed our sales & profitability targets, as well as business plan objectives for revenue growth and profitability.
  • Implement strategies to optimize profitability and reduce operational costs, especially controllable store expenses.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining clean, well-stocked, and organized stores.
  • Address customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement promotions and customer loyalty programs.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all stores comply with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and shrinkage.

Strategic Planning & Project Management:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term business strategies to create a distinct competitive advantage for our company as a leader in our BOPI industry.
  • Lead and manage projects related to store operations, including new store openings, renovations, and technology implementations.
  • Coordinate with other departments in the head office, such as HR, Finance, IT, and Marketing, to ensure successful execution of operational projects.
  • Identify market trends and adjust operations to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Be the champion and decision maker to drive store operation projects in the head office team, including but not limited to automation projects, training projects, and process improvement projects.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Operate as an inclusive leader; engage head office departments to support company's strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with merchandising, suppliers, finance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in negotiations and partnerships to ensure favorable terms.

Work Environment:

  • Reports and works closely with the Regional Managers Based in Cebu head office.
  • Requires frequent travel to various store locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include weekends or holidays, as needed.
