MAIN PURPOSE:
The Offline Editor is responsible for the creative storytelling of a video film. He/she will work closely with the in-house Content Production team and its Director to craft the structure, mood, pacing, flow, and story of branded content, bringing our clients visions to life.
The role entails crafting of many versions or revisions as needed until edits reach a picture lock.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
VIDEO EDITING
- Interpret and execute creative briefs, storyboards, and scripts following the intended storytelling and visual narrative
- Edit and assemble raw footage into a coherent and visually compelling story, ensuring smooth transitions, proper pacing, and visual continuity
- Basic edit and mix of audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects
- Recommend soundtrack and sound effects needed for offline edits
- Attend briefings and meetings related to post production projects as needed
- Propose workarounds or solutions to client revisions
- Apply consolidated editing comments from the Director, Agency, and Client
- Perform quality checks to ensure that final outputs meet technical specifications and quality standards
COLLABORATION AND ORGANIZATION
- Coordinate with the Senior Offline Editor, Post Production Supervisor / Production Assistant for the creation and recommendation of timetables
- Collaborate closely with the creative team, including directors and other editors, to achieve the desired storytelling vision for each project.
- Organize and manage digital assets, including footage, audio files, graphics, and project files, and safekeep hard drives to maintain an efficient workflow
- Organized with files so turnovers to other editors are seamless
3. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY
- Stay up-to-date with industry-standard editing software and tools, ensuring proficiency in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Has at least 2 years proven experience as an Offline Editor in a video production environment
- Has proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro)
- Has Strong storytelling and narrative skills
- Has excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for storytelling composition
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative team environment
- Has strong communication and time management skills
- Has knowledge in offline editing, basic audio mixing and Adobe After Effects
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Multimedia Arts, Communication, or a related field is preferred
- At least 1-2 years proven experience as an Offline Editor in a video production environment
- Is respectful and can get along with different personalities
- Holds him/herself accountable, open to receiving and giving feedback
- Positive outlook and personality on both work and personal aspects, willing to be trained hard while sharing his or her own perspective and voice
