NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is on a mission to make a carbon-free, climate-safe future a reality. We are building the worlds largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabias Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026. NGHC brings together the technology, operational efficiency and know-how of ACWA Power, Air Products and NEOM in a joint-venture partnership with over 80 years of combined experience in the fields of hydrogen, energy, renewables and global networks.

JOB DETAILS

DIVISION: NGHC Project Management

REPORTS TO: Project Director - Power Elements (Solar & Wind)

POSITION SUMMARY:

NGHC is seeking a self sufficient, highly motivated, technically proficient and experienced Project Manager for a 2.93 GW ac solar plant. The Project Manager will be responsible for the oversight, design review due diligence and site execution of the solar plant and related equipment including BoP works through to commissioning and completion.

NATURE & SCOPE

The Project Manager will be responsible for organizing the technical due diligence review process to support engineering and construction phases of the solar plant and communicating and resolving technical issues with the main contractor and stakeholders. It will require the Project Manager to manage, and coordinate all aspects of work related to development and construction of the project.. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the overall project scope, schedule, cost and risk management, as well as, establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the main contractor, subcontractors, , project consultants, regulatory agencies, and any other project stakeholders, whilst aiming for the highest standards and behavioral compliance in HSE and Quality assurance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

The principal duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Ensure the execution and handover of the project on schedule and on budget, Ensure a zero-accident safety record and general compliance with company QHSE policy
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, develop and deliver progress reports for the construction of assigned projects
  • Work closely with contractors, engineers and project teams to oversee organization, scheduling, and implementation
  • Be the on-site lead of construction field operations from an execution, quality, safety and workmanship perspective. Must have demonstrable hands-on capability
  • Monitor and report progress and issues relating to safety, quality, schedule, risk and budget in accordance with established reporting procedures
  • Ensure the project is constructed in strict adherence to quality requirements and to the design plans and specifications
  • Participate and track day to day site progress and ensures the project maintains schedule, and provide solutions to make up lost times as required
  • Manage project expenses to ensures project is delivered within budget
  • Provide detailed project status reports ,performance data and assist in presentations as required by the stakeholders and management
  • Prepare, review, issue RFIs, RFPs, etc. for subcontracted works. Additionally assist in the preparation, review, evaluation of changes orders etc.
  • Review, evaluate and recommend subcontractor feedback and proposals (in all fields of the scope of works)
  • Assist in the negotiation and preparation subcontracts in accordance with company subcontracting policies
  • At any given time would be involved in a combination of managing the main project, managing several minor sub-projects including Engineering assistance for renewable power elements, assist in marketing and business development activities, support the development of standards for project execution
  • Help develop best practices, processes and tools for project execution and management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience working in the renewable power industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (ideally electrical).
  • Masters degree. Additional qualifications in the fields of engineering, power industry or project management desirable.
  • At least 10 years previous experience for large scale solar PV projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in the renewable power industry.
  • Experience in the fields of engineering, estimation, site construction, project development, operations, project management, technology.
  • Familiarity with PV energy industry technology (modules, inverters, mounting system, balance of system, etc).
  • Project management and time management skills, including an ability to balance multiple workstreams under tight deadlines and to establish and maintain good relations with the main contractor.
  • Solution-oriented thinking skills, identifying technical risks and formulating solutions.
  • Displaying high integrity and honesty to perform a rigorous but fair review of the project, and contractor performance.
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills, including ability to write clear and detailed technical reports, presentations, and to clearly communicate complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with contracts (construction, supply, operations, interconnection, offtake, and/or asset management contracts).Contract management
  • Understanding of budgets cashflows, projects cost, revenue, and financial performance
  • Some concentration of experience in the following: solar industry construction and operating contracts, , operations/asset management, solar project design/development, module/inverter technology, energy storage technology and implementation. Having experience in the wind industry or other renewables may be advantageous
  • Experience managing people with different cultural and fields of experience backgrounds
  • Innovation and process improvement mindset.
  • Understanding environmental concepts including permit requirements
  • Versed in specialized software suits as Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Visio), Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6).
