_Job Description:_
A Network Security Officer is someone who is a key player on the IT network team. This role is on a team that controls all platforms maintained by network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet brokers, and network forensic tools.

He/She will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and working with different departments to resolve them, ensuring that our network and data remain secure. He/She reports directly to the Information Technology Manager.

_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_

Responsible for creating and enforcing network security policies and rules, granting and revoking network access rights and permissions, and ensuring network security backups and recovery.

Monitor, analyze, and respond to network security incidents and threats.

Knowledgeable in using various tools and techniques to detect, prevent, and mitigate network attacks, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and encryption.

Provide network security support and training to users and staff, coordinate with other network security professionals and stakeholders, and keep abreast of network security trends and developments.

Perform regular audits, tests, and reports to assess the network security posture and compliance.

Perform real time network monitoring and scanning via intrusion detection/prevention systems and enforce all policies/procedures within the network.

Performed security audits and training of physical and network systems security policies and procedures.

Develop and implement SOPs including Incident Response, Firewall Change Procedures and Firewall Installation Guidelines.

Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues, optimize network performance and security, and document network security policies and procedures.

_SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS_

Knowledgeable with network security applications to provide expert guidance to their customers, mitigate network security threats and vulnerabilities, and design and maintain network security infrastructure and architecture.

Familiar to use Intrusion Detection Systems to monitor and analyze network traffic to detect potential security threats.

Deep knowledge of the firewall environment to support architecture and implementation efforts

Familiar to use the SOC to monitor systems, identify potential threats, and respond to security incidents. They may also create standard operating procedures for the SOC and train other team members.

Ability to research and develop comprehensive corporate security policies including VPN and Wireless policies.

Need to have strong technical skiils, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

_PERFORMANCE STANDARDS_

Recovery Mean Time: Average time the organization records from a network failure.

Failure Mean Time: Time elapse between one network failure and the next.

Security Incidents: Number of security incidents including data breach, malware infections, unauthorized access attempts and system compromises.

Compliance: Adherence to security policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
