Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Network Deployment for the IP Backbone, Network Routing/Switching Equipment, Computes, Cloud implementations.
- Responsible for coordinating with internal, external & 3rd party deployment teams to support and build out of new sites & augmenting existing network sites.
- Overseeing operational testing, verification and acceptance Network Switching / Routing, Backbone, Global Wide Area Network, Peering and PoP Sites (Point of Presence), Public and Private Clouds
- Responsible for program managing End-to-End Deployment from site selection, RFP, vendor selections and Purchase Orders to vendors, coordinate with the internal and external teams in all aspects of network equipment installation, service testing and driving any problem resolution with internal engineering and 3rd party vendors during the site and implementation & acceptance
- Responsible for Network Asset and Inventory database updates for new sites, appropriate documentation (Site drawings, and other site-specific information) is vetted, reviewed and approved prior to operational readiness milestone of the site.
- Develop and maintain detail network project plans
- Program manage the vendor and equipment lifecycles focused on deploying vendor product enhancements, SW upgrades & Patching, end of life milestones.
- Analyze and incorporate financial impacts of site delays, acceptance gaps and other deployment issues.
Qualifications
- BS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent education required
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications preferably with a Tier 1/2 ISP or Service provider ISP or other carrier centric environments
- Experience in developing & deploying new sites, IP Backbone capacity
- With 10 years experience with deployment and technical project management of SW lifecycle of private cloud and projects in public cloud migrations
- 5 years of experience in Wireless communications (5G/LTE) managing Core or IP deployments
- Five (5) years of experience using Project Management tools like MS Project
- Good understanding of Peering and IP Transit
- Excellent written and communication skills and ability to work in large diverse team environments.
