KEY QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably within the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or food industries.- Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods and techniques.
Experience with GMP, ISO, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording data.- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively document and report findings.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and software used for microbiological testing.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to detect and identify microbial contamination.
Perform routine microbial analyses including but not limited to, bioburden testing, environmental monitoring, and sterility testing.
- Analyze test results, document findings, and report any deviations or out-of-specification results to the Quality Control Manager.
Develop and validate microbiological methods and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable testing.- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all microbiological testing activities and results.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards, including GMP and ISO.
- Investigate and resolve microbiological quality issues in collaboration with production and quality assurance teams.
Participate in internal and external audits, providing microbiological expertise and support as needed.- Implement and maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the microbiology laboratory.
Stay current with advancements in microbiological testing methods and technologies, and recommend improvements to existing processes.
