JOB SUMMARY

The essential responsibility is to perform all laboratory tests in all section.

• KEY RESULT AREAS

• Hematology

Performs phlebotomy for in-patient and out patients.

• Does complete blood count using the automated machines.

Performs procedures to detect abnormalities of homeostasis and coagulation.

• Screens thick and thin blood smears for the presence of malarial parasites.

Performs reticulocytes count and peripheral blood smear reading.

• Performs analysis of different body fluids and differential counts.

Performs quality controls and calibration of automated instruments.

• Makes daily census of workload.

• 2. Clinical Microscopy

Performs smears of stool samples to detect parasites and ova for fecalysis.

• Performs screening for occult blood in stool.

Performs routine urinalysis using manual and automated system.

• Performs micral test for the detection of microalbuminuria.

Performs pregnancy test.

• Performs complete semen analysis.

Makes daily census of workload.

• 3. Clinical Chemistry

Operates automated machines for blood chemistry assay.

• Performs electrolyte tests.

Performs analysis of body fluids.

• Performs quality control and calibration of reagents.

Makes daily census of workload.

• 4. Blood Bank

Performs phlebotomy for patients as well as blood donors.

• Performs ABO and RH blood typing, antibody screen and major cross matching.

Prepares blood components from whole blood to fresh frozen plasma (FFP), platelet concentrate (PC) and cryoprecipitate.

• Releases blood and blood components to patients.

Performs direct and indirect anti-globulin test, Cold agglutinin titer and pre-warmed blood preparation and procedure.

• Performs ABO discrepancy resolution and difficult compatibility through Antibody Identification and phenotyping.

Performs screening test for donors using Architect I 1000SR machine.

• 5. Microbiology

Collects nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab for SARS-CoV2 RT-PCR testing.

• QUALIFICATION/S

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical/Medical Laboratory science.

• Must be a Registered Medical Technologist.

Detail-oriented and highly organized.

• Can start immediately
