Responsibilities and Duties:- Ensures blood safety by proper donor selection and screening through:
- Physical Examination
Pre-donation Counseling- 2. Provides post-donation management (counselling/seminar) especially to donors with reactive of equivocal results.
- Ensures safety of donors through the provision of donor care.
- Supervises and provides technical assistance to the staff involved in mass blood donations (MBD's) and in special duties and submits report on these activitie, ensuring that all activities thereof are organized, directed and controlled.
- Prepares schedule for MBD and for monthly assignment/s of staff outside of regular office duties (nights, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays).
- Provides medical services to the Philippine Red Cross staff, their dependents and other patients.
- Performs required pre-employment physical examination to Red Cross job applicants prior to employment/hiring.
- Represents the Philippine Red Cross in meetings, symposia, lecture engagement, media interviews locally or internationally as directed.
- Conducts home visits/medical consultations to sick employees and their dependents whenever necessary, subject to approval of the superiors.
- Heads medical team during conventions, trainings, seminars, etc., whenever requested, subject to the approval of the superiors.
- Participates in medical missions, as necessary.
- Assists the blood center manager in submission of blood monitoring reports.
- Heads blood bank section as assigned.
- Qualifications:
Graduate of Doctor of Medicine
A licensed medical practitioner*
