The Medical Historian is responsible for interviewing patients, retrieve and review information to compose accurate and complete medical records.
Job Description
- Makes the initial call to the patient to schedule the interview.
- Retrieves the source documents and review the information to get the medical background of the Patient.
- Calls the Patient on the appointed schedule and proceeds to interview the Patient, guided by the Client's questionnaire.
- Analyzes the information obtained from the interview and creates a narrative following the Client-specified format.
- Submits the report to the Production Supervisor
As an independent contractor, the minimum hours that they can render per day is 4 hours totaling 20 hours per week. Technically, it is a 5-day work week but it depends on the availability of the applicant/historian. They must meet 20 hours per week, can be spread out during the weekday or weekend if they are available.
Minimum Qualifications - Medicine or Nursing Graduate
Medical Allied Course Graduate with an experience in Healthcare Account- Communication and listening skills
Excellent command of written English
Knowledge in History Taking
