Responsible for sourcing, writing, and sending newsworthy stories to gain publicity and disseminate information to members of the press or other media representatives. Ensures and safeguards the integrity of the College's name, image, and reputation of the College among its stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Assists the Unit head in sourcing out newsworthy content within the members of the Benildean Community that supports the College's educational philosophy.
Proposes and develops a story line based on the gathered content in close consultation with the Unit head and Media Relations consultant.
Prepares and writes press releases for submission to the Unit head and Media Relations consultant.
Manages the Unit's official social media account through regular posting of published content/stories for wider reach and awareness about the events, activities, and stories about the College.
Monitors news stories in different media outfits/outlets as a result of media coverage or media interviews and works with outsource third-party media company and media relations associate in clipping and archiving news stories.
Assists in providing written responses to media and public inquiries.
Creates and updates standard press packets/media kits, builds press lists, and administers to press delegates.
Establishes, cultivates, and maintains harmonious working relationships with different media contacts.
Coordinates media interest in the College and ensures regular contact with target media and appropriate timely response to media requests.
Assists in preparing draft response/advisory/letter to the community as directed by the Unit head and/or Media Relations consultant.
Researches and investigates major developments affecting the College's name, image, and reputation as promulgated by the media, opinion makers, and the public by providing relevant and up to date information to the Unit head and Media Relations consultant.
Assists in releasing College official statement to the media, as needed and/or ordered by the law.
Assists in facilitating media interviews before the designated official spokesperson of the College.
Maintains database and archive of College news releases and media coverage, media and advertising contacts, and media requests, inquiries, and advertisements.
Qualifications
Has at least 3 years and above working experience in media or public relations from a reputable agency, organization, network, station, or publication.
Must have experience in writing news and feature stories gained from media organizations preferably from print media i.e. broadsheets and/or magazines. Experience gained from broadcast media i.e. television networks and/or radio stations may be considered.
Writer/contributor to print media is an advantage.
