Job Purpose:
This position will work on producing items such as short films, short documentaries, audio messages and videos in various formats. This individual will edit and produce short videos to increase our social media video presence and ultimately enhance Islamic Relief Canadas brand. By attending events and capturing testimonial videos, the Media Production Specialist will work to enhance overall brand awareness and assist in using videos and digital media to draw attention to Islamic Relief Canada as the peoples charity of choice.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for covering fundraising events and tours
- Captures and uploads live streams of event highlights
- Works in collaboration with the Marketing team to produce campaign-specific videos
- Creates ads and assets in various formats on a monthly basis, including social media
- Ventures into the community to capture testimonial videos as deemed fit by the marketing department
- Develops ad hoc videos, either filming new footage or adjusting existing footage
- Utilizes experience with computer software editing programs and video equipment such as cameras, microphones and lighting
- Gives direction and edits to freelance videographers for overflow projects
- Ability to give direction to other videographers and make responsible and thought-out decisions for the whole video team
- Undertakes in-house studio maintenance
Qualifications & Competencies
- Completion of a college diploma/university degree in Media, Broadcasting or related field is required
- 2-3 years of experience full time with a company or 4-5 years of experience as freelance
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other media programs (PremierePro, AfterEffects, Davinci, etc)
- Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Meta, Twitter, Youtube, and LinkedIn
- Multi-lingual an asset
