ABOUT THE COMPANYHailing from the prominent Filpride Group, Malayan Maritime Services, Inc. Initially partnering with its sister company, Insular Oil Corporation Terminal located in Sasa, Davao, it has since grown to service more customers from different industries, both local and foreign alike. MMSI now caters to a wide variety of commercial ships, docking and undocking in the many ports in the Davao Region such as Sasa, Kudos, Panabo, Malalag, reaching CDO, Cebu and Batangas.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The chief engineer of the tugboat is the head of the technical department of the tugs. It is his duty to ensure that the engine room machinery works properly for a smooth voyage.
The primary function of the Chief Engineer is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Engine Department and proper maintenance of vessel, plant and equipment.
Chief engineer should ensure that all the ship's machinery and equipment are working in an efficient manner in order to support safe navigation of the ship.
Frequent inspections of equipment dealing with ship and personal safety must be carried out by him at regular intervals of time
All items used for pollution prevention should be frequently checked and tried out for proper operating condition
Chief engineer should lay down a set of standing orders for each crew member under his command
College graduate with degree in Marine Engineering or in related field.
Preferably certified licensed Professional Marine Engineer.
Experience working in a vessel, tugboat.
OIC (Officer In Charge of an Engineering Watch) Licensed
Experience on Z-Peller and Duck-Peller tugboats in harbor assisting and towages.
Willing to be deployed in any location
