Job Description:
This Manager of Global ORRM Business Resilience MBPS position reports directly to the Head of Governance, Methodologies, and Practices. This position is part of the second line of defense independent oversight function and will partner with the first line of defense businesses to ensure that the business continuity management framework and controls are integrated with and serve to strengthen its operational resilience approach, addressing all standard and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of existing and new ORRM frameworks, policies, and standards
- Coordinate the intake of activities cross-segments to be reviewed and challenged based on the ORM program
- Execute the review using a consistent template, ensuring clear documentation with sufficient evidence to support the outcome before sharing with Segment risk teams
- Collaborate with Segment ORRM, IRM, Compliance, Legal, Ops, and Tech 1B colleagues
- Collect data and report on operational risk metrics, engaging with business partners for data collection, reviewing results, and challenging the performance/outcome
- Update dashboard reporting on progress of activities, outcomes, gaps, remediations, as well as metrics reporting
- Support the execution of function improvement programs, including enhancements to Risk Programs
- Promote a strong risk culture and oversee relevant risk culture assessment processes
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:
- Broad knowledge of financial services/insurance business and related products
- Strong knowledge of OSFI E-21 and Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Third-Party Risk Management
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in operational risk management with strong knowledge of operational processes, risks, and controls specifically in the areas above
- Experience with independent control design assessment and operating effectiveness
- Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make valuable and practical recommendations
- Results-oriented with a focus on quality, delivering value, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships, both within and across divisions
- High proficiency in MS Office Products and data analytics tools is a plus
- Self-starter with the ability to work with little guidance
