Reporting to the EVP the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will drive Actron Industries Inc. to growth and profitability through marketing and branding initiatives. This is a strategic role with focus on product management, improvement and innovation, and adapting a brand building strategy to generate sustainable demand in line with company strategic direction. This role will require working closely with cross functional matrix teams in the planning, monitoring and implementation of plans.
Roles and Responsibilities
STRATEGY
- Lead development and implementation of strategic marketing and branding strategies that are aligned with business objectives, direction, and projected growth and profitability
- Stay updated on trends, developments, and best practices and use knowledge in process improvement in the development of plans and strategies
- Uses project management tools in the development and implementation of initiatives
- Reflect these strategies into an integrated Marketing Calendar for Product and Branding that is aligned with Sales/ Trade/ Consumer activities
MARKET & CONSUMER UNDERSTANDING
- Develop and implement research initiatives, including analysis on market, consumer need and competitors activities, to support strategies by identifying gaps & opportunities
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Establish and effectively manage the Marketing Ad & PR budget and Marketing related expenses for staffing, resources and capital purchases
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
- Leads product activities including but not limited to 360 Product Launches
- Pricing Strategy (Positioning, Margins, Price Increases)
- Forecasting and Inventory Management (minimize excess, shortage, re-flow/re-use excess)
- Product Line Management (Addition or Discontinuance of SKUs)
- Product Registration
- Monthly Report on Product metrics and results
INNOVATION/ NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (NPD)
- Leads the innovation and development of new products/product enhancement (ex. upgrades, package improvement, re-branding) based on research, market insights and trends, and consumer needs.
- Spearheads activities from ideation to launch and P&L analysis
- Applies project management to lead NPD working closely with matrix group of R&D, Technical Center, Creatives and others as needed.
BRANDING
Develops the Branding Strategy and Campaigns to establish brand building and awareness, in tandem internal and external partners (Demand Creation Team and agencies) this will also include:
- An integrated Branding campaign for online (Digital) and offline activities that is in sync with field Sales
- Kicking off digitalization initiatives for websites, CRM and e-commerce
- Identification and support for relevant events, sponsorships, tradeshows in execution of marketing plans
- Managing the creation of marketing collaterals and sales support tools
TEAMWORK & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Collaborates and works closely with other departments, and stakeholders in the implementation, monitoring, support, and analysis of projects and programs. Effectively manages and motivate the marketing services team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Food Technology or any related field
- At least 15 years of work experience in the areas of Sales and Marketing in a Food Service Industry
