What We are Looking For....
We are looking for a Maintenance Lead, to work onsite at our Odlums Portarlington site - Bracklone, Portarlington, Co. Laois on a permanent basis.
What You will Do...
- Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting
- Technical support for the site and work with equipment suppliers on remote access.
- Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene as soon as any deterioration in KPI occurs.
- To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected and to act based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not
- Troubleshooting of PLC Programs and computer network with the support of the IT department.
- Maintain workshops to a high standard
- Assist with customer audits
- Report weekly, on maintenance performance, any major issues and corrective plans
- Ensure all electrical drawings and wiring is up to date with current practices.
- Improve environmental awareness and optimise resource utilisation
- Ensure the computerized maintenance management system is maintained
- Further responsibilities may be added from time to time as the strategy evolves
- Be innovative with new ideas and initiatives for site improvements
- Work with project team on implementing new projects
- Ensure all parts are ordered with the support of management.
- Using all resources such as manuals, service contacts etc to aid in breakdown recovery
- Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies
- Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications.
- Electro-mechanical repairs to all milling and packaging equipment, including pneumatic systems
- Carry out the implementation of the preventative maintenance program.
What You will Have...
Candidates must be fully qualified with an Electrical - Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitting qualification or equivalent-FETAC Advanced Certificate Level 6. (National Craft Certificate). National Qualification Authority of Ireland MUST has already verified qualifications from other jurisdiction.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a qualified Maintenance electrician or Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be interested in Preventative Maintenance and work on own initiative.
- Must be available work any shift or days or callouts
- Ideally Food Industry, Fast Moving Consumer Goods Manufacturing experience.
- Mechanical/Electrical background. Main skill in Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatics
- Experience in PLC and programming essential
- Computer skills a must
- Qualification in instrumentation an advantage
- Experience with milling and packing equipment an advantage
- Multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos
- Aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a FMCG environment
- Good team player that can use their initiative and take on new challenges and projects
- An understanding of food standards ( BRC, Tesco standard, FEMAS)
- Ability to cover callouts and breakdowns at evenings and weekends.
