Pag-asa Steel seeks a Machinist who is responsible for performing machine shop operations, fabricating and manufacturing parts and components for plant use, and repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Operates lathe, shaper, milling machine, slotter, power hacksaw, surface grinder, drill press and other related Machine Shop equipment properly
- Maintains machine shop equipment and ensure proper operating condition
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of machine shop area- Fabricates spare parts such as entry guide, key way shafting, gears, key stock, deformation into the rolls, slot for the housing guide, bolts, nuts, etc.
Fabricates templates for rolls and guides and go/no go gauges
- Makes field measurements to clarify sizes of parts to be fabricated
Check and inspects tolerances of parts fabricated to determine if it is within standards or in accordance with specifications
- Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications
Preferred candidates will exhibit the following:
- Vocational or Trade School Graduate in Machine Shop practices
Must have one (1) or two (2) years work experience with lathe, milling machine, shaper, and other machine shop equipment- Knows how to read, interpret blueprints, and drawings
Has knowledge in machining methods and processes
- Has knowledge in maintenance of machine tools
Familiarity with different measuring tools and instruments- Basic mechanical aptitude
Knowledge in fits and tolerances
- Can operate and manipulate Machine Shop equipment
Good in precise measurement
