Key Responsibilities:- Port Clearance Management:
Oversee and manage the port clearance process for imports and exports.- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Coordinate with port authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate timely clearance of goods.
- Resolve any issues or delays related to port clearance.
Shipping Line Coordination:
- Establish and maintain relationships with shipping lines to negotiate rates, schedules, and service levels.
Monitor and manage shipping line performance and address any service issues.
- Optimize shipping routes and methods to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Customs Brokerage Coordination:
- Work closely with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely processing of import and export documentation.
Ensure all customs requirements and regulations are met for shipments.
- Address any customs-related issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Logistics Strategy and Optimization:
Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.- Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
Lead and mentor the logistics team, providing guidance and support.- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Compliance and Risk Management:- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics and supply chain operations.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CILT, APICS) is a plus.- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics management, with a strong focus on port clearance, shipping lines, and customs brokerage.
Proven track record of successfully managing logistics operations and improving processes.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and port operations.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
