Work involves responsibility for a variety of technical procedures, cataloging, maintaining administrative records and files, and complex clerical and typing work. Duties include carrying out library acquisition procedures, cataloging, entering materials in automated databases, resolving problems in procedure, and assistance in file and records maintenance.
- Performs elementary descriptive cataloging
- Prepares book orders, verifies book deliveries against invoices and maintains records of book acquisitions.
- Oversees book processing.
- Resolves routine problems in technical procedures.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks, as assigned.
- Oversees library clerical staff in acquisitions and processing.
- Undertaken book, serials, acquisitions and processing.
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
- He/She must be a graduate of Library and Information Science/Library Science or equivalent
- Knowledge of library reference and cataloging methods;
- knowledge of bibliographic sources of information;
- ability to maintain appropriate records and reports of activities
- Computer knowledge & skills
