As the Legal Head / Lawyer with a focus on the banking sector, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal guidance and oversight to senior management on a wide range of legal matters. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with banking regulations, mitigating legal risks, and safeguarding the company's interests in this highly regulated industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support to senior management on banking-related issues, including regulatory compliance, risk management, corporate governance, contracts, and litigation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with banking laws and regulations.
- Review, draft, and negotiate banking agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Stay informed about changes in banking laws and regulations and advise senior management on their implications for the company.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lawyer, with a background in banking and financial services.
- Strong knowledge of banking laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice and counsel in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
