We are currently looking for an experienced Law Clerk or Legal Assistant to help us with legal paperwork, contracts, and overall legal compliance.
Responsibilities- Administrative Support:
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Managing and organizing files, both physical and electronic.
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
- Maintaining calendars and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Legal Research:
- Conducting research on legal issues and case law.
- Summarizing findings for attorneys to use in case preparation.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicating with clients to gather information and provide updates.
- Preparing and processing client intake forms.
- Document Management:
- Filing documents with courts and other authorities.
- Ensuring proper execution and notarization of legal documents.
- Case Preparation:
- Assisting attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and evidence.
- Preparing and organizing discovery materials.
- Support During Trials:
- Assisting attorneys during trials by handling documents and exhibits.
- Taking notes and managing logistics.
Skills- Attention to Detail:
- High level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
- Organizational Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Research Skills:
- Proficiency in using legal research databases and resources.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other office technology.
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze and interpret legal information and documents.
Qualifications- Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies
- Proven experience of at least 2-3 years in the legal assistant role
- Previous experience in a legal setting can be beneficial but not always required for entry-level positions.
- Internships or volunteer positions in legal environments can provide valuable experience.
- Certifications (Optional but beneficial):
- Certified Paralegal (CP) or Registered Paralegal (RP).
- Specialized certifications in specific areas of law (e.g., litigation, family law).
