The responsibilities associated with this position include:
- Manage a team and/or land contractors / service providers
- Design and implement land acquisition strategies and plans for new renewable energy and energy storage development sites and monitor progress;
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate data, progress status, challenges, solutions, and strategies to the project team and other departments, potentially including senior management when required;
- Participate, report, discuss and contribute insights during planning, site assessment, strategic meetings, update and coordination sessions for renewable energy and/or energy storage development;
- Provide strategic insights and organize pertinent information (such as maps, database of prices, competitors, etc.) to support in strategic decision-making regarding growth and placement of SNAP's Renewable Energy Projects;
- Lead in the stakeholder engagement involving landowners, land brokers, local governments, regulatory agencies and community organizations to gain support for the proposed renewable energy and energy storage projects;
- Lead in organizing and guiding meetings involving landowners, land brokers, and other stakeholders;
- Lead in negotiations and finalize contract for land acquisition or leasing;
- Lead the discussion, preparation and drafting of framework contracts with the landowners, including the study of specific contracts with sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Support the Project Manager and project team in the development and construction of renewable energy and energy storage projects by providing contiguous land along with land options and lease agreements;
- Travel to project areas/sites to conduct research and due diligence on land for sale/lease, landowner information and background and local and national government and regulatory requirements in acquiring/leasing the land;
- Represent the Project Manager, project team and organization during discussions, site ocular inspections and due diligence with landowners and/or land brokers;
- Present and discuss project information to landowners, land brokers and other stakeholders necessary for the acquisition or lease of the land;
- Establish, develop and maintain relationships with landowner and land broker throughout the land acquisition process;
- Collaborate with the primary departments within SNAP to identify, establish, develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in relevant government agencies like LRA, BIR, RD, DA, DAR, DENR, NCIP among others.
- Assist the Project Manager and project team in the preparation, submission and coordination with regulatory agencies and institutions for the acquisition of permits, clearances, and licenses (i.e., DAR, DENR, LGU's) related to land including the negotiation and discussion with such agencies to acquire the best possible terms beneficial for the project;
- Implement improvements to current processes and systems to improve ease of operation and achieve optimal efficiencies;
- Develop budgets for land-related expenses of designated development projects, which will be discussed, submitted, implemented, and monitored throughout the project lifecycle;
- Oversee administrative duties, including document management, processing liquidations, and reviewing and submitting Daily Time Records (DTRs)
Requirements:
Experience:
- With 10-15 years experience land acquisition and management, stakeholder engagement and management, permitting process and understanding of real estate, tax, accounting rules, and has energy industry exposure and familiarity, especially with regulatory and legal requirements
- Preferably a licensed broker
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, law, real estate or any other related course.
