Roles and Responsibilities:
- Act as escalation contact for L1 Network Admin Support on networking-related incidents/service requests
- Monitor and manage continuous end-to-end network performance using network monitoring tools.
- Provides ideas and recommendations on the design of the network to improve Network performance and reliability for optimal operations.
- LAN access switch administration/configuration and troubleshooting
- Network router administration/configuration and troubleshooting
- Wireless access point/LAN controller administration/configuration and troubleshooting
- Routing table and ACL configuration and troubleshooting
- Network security administration/configuration and troubleshooting
- Installation/Deployment of enterprise network router/switch devices/appliances
- Network switch/router OS/firmware upgrade and bug/security patching
- Network capacity checking and performance management (e.g. checking of network device health, WAN links)
- Create/Provision VLANs
- Network troubleshooting and analysis using packet analyzer tools (i.e. packet tracing and analysis)
- Configure and monitor network device/systems availability and performance (e.g. via PRTG, Nagios, etc.)
- Network performance statistical data extract and reporting
- Create/Update, and verify MOP documentation (e.g. network deployment plan, config guides) for network-related changes - Contact/Escalate to 3rd party or technology vendor (e.g. TAC) for technical support or RMA requests.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent/related course
- at least 2-3 years of solid working experience in network technical support and/or network administrator role
- Practical knowledge and experience in working with enterprise LAN / WAN / Wireless environments; preferably in administering/configuring CISCO, Lenovo, HPE, and/or Huawei Network Appliances
- General knowledge in server OS networking (i.e. Windows/Linux server OS connectivity troubleshooting & analysis)
- Knowledge of ITIL methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- CCNA/CCNP certification, a plus
