The Role:
The KYC Manager will lead the Know Your Customer (KYC) operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role involves managing a team, overseeing the customer onboarding process, conducting due diligence, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks associated with customer identification and verification.
Duties & Responsibilities:
KYC Management
- Oversee the KYC process, including customer identification, verification, and due diligence.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer information.
Create a KYC manual and review and update it to ensure compliance with the SEC and other regulatory bodies such as data privacy, data protection, and data storage for clients.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Assessment
- Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and ensure the company's KYC and credit risk practices comply with these changes.
Ensure the company's KYC practices comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.- Conduct thorough credit risk assessments of new and existing customers.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and review customer accounts to identify and address potential credit risks.
Identify and escalate potential compliance risks and work with Legal & Compliance to mitigate them.
Customer Due Diligence- Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers and entities.
Review and approve KYC profiles prepared by team members.
- Maintain accurate records of all KYC activities and decisions.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on KYC activities, performance metrics, and risk assessments for management.
Analyze data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement in the KYC process.
Technology & Innovation- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize KYC systems and tools.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology for more efficient and effective KYC operations.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of KYC analyst, specialists and officers.
Develop training programs to ensure team members are knowledgeable about current regulations and internal policies.- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Perform others tasks as may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
With minimum of 5 years of experience in KYC, credit management & compliance within the financial services or fintech industry- With strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to KYC
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
