Job Description

This Junior Underwriter role invites you to make an impact in the finance world by analyzing key mortgage documents like credit reports, income statements, and appraisals. You'll ensure that loans comply with industry guidelines and are processed efficiently. Your keen eye for detail and ability to navigate regulatory frameworks will help drive seamless mortgage processes for clients. • Analyze credit, income, assets, contract, and appraisal documents.
  
• Research program guidelines to ensure loans meet regulatory and institutional requirements.
  
• Ensure completeness of form 1003.
  
• Coordinate with title companies and attorneys for Chain of Title during loan processing.
  
• Perform income calculations and apply TRID guidelines.
  
• Develop follow-up procedures for necessary items, such as needs letters, appraisals, and titles.
  
• Conduct Clear to Close Audits prior to submitting files for approval.
  
• Ensure borrowers understand the conditions needed for closing.
  
• Order subordination agreements after receiving appraisals and titles.
  
• Schedule closing dates with borrowers, loan officers, and title companies.
  
• Examine refinance title commitments to verify the borrower's ownership status, ensure that property taxes are up to date, and confirm the accuracy of scheduled liens.
  

Requirements

Do you have what it takes to loan-dle this

• Bachelor's Degree required.
  
• 2-3 years of mortgage or lending experience.
  
• Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory rules, laws, and underwriting guidelines relevant to the mortgage industry.
  
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
