This position is primarily involved in work in the computer field performing systems analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs. The position exercises discretion and judgment.
The Associate Specialist I has entry level knowledge within designated Information Technology (IT) area of responsibility that is applied to specific assignments. This role executes assigned tasks and collaborates on IT projects while exhibiting consistent, current knowledge of new technologies, and platforms.
- Has a depth of experience in at least one of the following operational service areas: Collaborative End-User Services, Desktop Services, Groupware Services, Data Center Infrastructure Services, Enterprise Networking Services, Service Delivery or Video & Voice Services
- Collaborate with all business groups in delivering IT Operation Service.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT functions
- Assess, maintain, support, and modify existing solutions utilizing standard procedures and techniques
- Apply methodology to support business applications, and investigate operational problems as necessary
- Assist in the preparations of full spectrum of specifications and user requirements
- Assist higher-level specialist in the maintenance of solutions
- Participate with cross-functional team members in issue identification, process impacts, and solution development discussions to optimize end-to-end solutions
- Provide on-call technical support for end users as required
- Monitor, test and analyze solutions to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability
- Analyze usage, identify problems, document, and submit to solutions lead
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
- Has an independent and flexible approach to work

Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and one (1) year* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to five (5) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

- Monitor servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems
- Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications
- Provide technical support during major system outages and perform root cause analysis and corrective action planning
Local IT Service Delivery

Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited degree or global equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or other related discipline
- One (1) year related experience in technical services for hardware/software engineering and production support of Information Technology (IT)
- Ability to demonstrate technical and non-technical communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to analyze and act upon operational reports
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
- As applicable one or more of these skills may be required:
- Ability to analyze reports and remediate vulnerabilities in firewalls, routers, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Vulnerability Assessments
- Some proficiency with telecommunications, local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) and multi-platform environments
- Some proficiency in areas of voice telecommunications technologies, including cell phones, calling cards and connections with user environments
- Knowledge in support of messaging environments
- Proficiency in end user services support, including knowledge of help desk management processes, desktop support, or asset management
