About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, trained accountant who knows the accounting standards. However we believe that technology allows to streamline work and automate processes. We want a team of modern accountants always finding ways to make their work more scalable. Think digital first: leverage Xero, leverage Google Sheet. Collaborate. Streamline.
As Junior Accountant your tasks and responsibilities include the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bookkeeping
Record transactions such as sales, purchases, bank transactions and accruals, accurately and in an efficient way.
Reconcile bank statements on a timely basis.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by maintaining general ledger schedules.
Finance
Ensure that all payables are paid in a timely manner.
Ensure that enough funds are available by preparing a weekly cash position report.
Handle and monitor petty cash fund.
Monitor reimbursements and liquidation of cash advances.
Coordinate with banks.
Follow up collections from clients.
Assist in depositing checks payments.
Compliance
Preparation and issuance of sales invoices and billing statements to clients.
Preparation and issuance of official receipts and BIR Form
Ensure that all transactions are substantiated by hard copies of sales invoices and official receipts.
Assist in routing documents to the required signatories.
Safekeep documents such as, but not limited to, original copies of sales invoices and ORs, contracts, etc.
Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns.
Others
Assist in accomplishing customer accreditation.
Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. ACCA, CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
1-3 years of experience in financial accounting roles
Knowledgeable in accounting principles and regulations (PFRS, IFRS)
Knowledgeable in Philippine taxation, particularly for value added tax (VAT) and expanded withholding tax (EWT)
Experience with modern accounting software (we use Xero)
Proficiency in Google Sheets and other Google applications.
Willing to work in a hybrid arrangement. Our local office is located in Makati City.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
