Junior Accountant/Finance Executive
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team reporting to the CFO. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years experience in accounting and finance, with a desire to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the willingness to learn and grow within the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support financial reporting and analysis activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations are met.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
- Preparing payment schedules for approval.
- Forecasting future cash flow based on all available data.
- Control and reconciliation of Intercompany balances.
- Reviewing spend / budget forecasts.
- Control chart of accounts including set up of GL codes and monitoring of spend postings.
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Monitoring direct debits and cost variances.
- Creating new supplier accounts and maintaining account details.
- Creation of monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Review systems and processes, suggesting and implementing improvements where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in use of relevant accounting software such as Sage/Xero etc and proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong interest in accounting and finance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
