Primary Duties & Responsibilities
SERVICE DELIVERY
- Frontline support and operational knowledge of the Philippines Production activities.
- Provide Philippines site end-user support on a timely basis and in accordance with organization standards.
- Participate in administration and support of Network, Servers, Security and Desktops.
- Frequent / appropriate communication to user/help desk, management and team members as to the status of problems/issues. Update help desk documentation following resolution of problems.
- Recommend and adhere to department procedures, consistent with legal and statutory requirements and with industry best practices.
IMPLEMENTATION AND SUPPORT OF COMPUTING AND NETWORK SERVICES
- Proactively monitor and support, high-availability network and servers supporting production applications.
- Collaborate, and support adherence to standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with best practices.
- Implement and support systems and network solutions according to standards, policies and procedures, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with IT Team on the delivery and support of the global infrastructure and on Philippines initiatives.
- Assist the Local System and Network admins on best practice techniques for design, implementation, management and operations.
- Collaborate with outside vendors to provide systems and infrastructure support to the environment.
INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY & INTEGRITY
- Maintain the integrity of the computing and networking environment through appropriate backup strategies, vital record storage, and system security measures including:
- Managing the security controls protecting the network, servers and computing services.
- Provide ongoing analysis of infrastructure for optimal operation, integrity and stability. Define and implement effective operating procedures.
- Periodically validate recovery procedures and maintain up to date procedures.
- Ensure site-wide compliance to regulatory controls and corporate IT policies/practices
PROJECT SUPPORT & COORDINATION
- Coordinate and support multiple concurrent activities and projects to meet project schedules/milestones.
- Proactively identify, support, communicate and resolve project issues.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT Support (preferably in Manufacturing Setting)
- Industry certification CCNA / MCP / ITILv3/4 or equivalent IT certification is desired (but not required)
- Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
- Familiarity with network and security protocols.
- Experience with Service Management Tool (FreshService / JIRA or equivalent)
- Experience with Network Monitoring Management Tool (Solarwinds / Nagios)
Skills
- Proficiency in Windows systems Microsoft O365, and desktop applications.
- Knowledgeable in monitoring and troubleshooting network devices, switches, firewalls and access points. (Cisco / Meraki)
- Knowledge of system security and data backup and recovery practices. (EDR / CommVault)
- Strong background in technical support
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
- This role is 100% onsite.
- The IT Staff will typically work in an office and production environment.
