  • Job Summary:

The Field Technician Support role at an IoT company specializing in smart locker solutions involves providing on-site technical assistance, maintenance, and repair services for hardware and IoT devices. The technician will ensure optimal functionality of smart locker systems, troubleshoot issues, and deliver excellent customer service. This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently in the field.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 1. Team Leadership and Management:
Supervise and mentor IT staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff scheduling.
  • 2. System Administration and Maintenance:
Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of all IT infrastructure, including servers, databases, and networks.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • 3. IoT and Smart Locker Technology Support:
Provide technical support for IoT devices and smart locker systems, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate new technologies and features into existing systems.
Monitor and analyze system performance to optimize operations and enhance user experience.
  • 4. Security and Compliance:
Implement and manage cybersecurity protocols to protect company data and systems from threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • 5. Project Management:
Lead and participate in IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop project plans, assign tasks, and track progress.
Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders.
  • 6. Vendor and Budget Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and performance.
Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • at least 3-5 years of experience as an IT Supervisor or in a similar role within an IoT or hardware-focused company.
  • Skillset:
Understanding of computer hardware components, servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and peripherals.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including hardware failures, network connectivity problems, and performance issues.
Proficiency in installing and configuring hardware devices, including PCs, servers, routers, switches, and printers.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to protect hardware and network infrastructure.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of IT technicians and support staff.
Skills to plan, execute, and oversee hardware-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and team members.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex hardware and network issues.
  • Capability to train and mentor team members, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
