Join our Transcom Family as an IT Global Network Engineer!
This position requires experience and familiarity with Cisco routing/switching hardware and software with specialization in LAN/WAN and Security technologies along with demonstrating a firm understanding of general TCP/IP routing and switching principles.
Ensures network uptime and availability for Transcom's multinational network of sites and Data Centers
Participate in the configuration of firewalls, routers, switches and maintenance of remote sites and data centers worldwide
Implement Network Changes under ITIL best practices
Assists in the deployment and maintenance next generation IPS/IDS systems and monitoring tools
Use various network monitoring tools to monitor and diagnose network health
Conduct Product Lifecycle Maintenance globally for network and security devices
Continuously keeping up-to-date the area related internal knowledge base and prepare required documentation, procedure definitions in order to ensure effective support work and knowledge transfer toward 1st line support organization units
Participate in meetings with project managers, stakeholders and customers
Accept 2nd level technical escalations and provide technical support for incidents
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you must
Experience
At least 2 years combined experience in Cisco routing, switching, and/or firewall platforms
Experience in a service-provider/customer-facing type environment is an advantage
Experience in a dual role i.e. combined network engineering and operations is an advantage
Experience in complex problem analysis with global/enterprise network issues
Defining and driving deployment of network infrastructure based on customer requirements
IT knowledge
Essential:
Demonstrated Associate-level or higher knowledge of network technologies through achievement of at least CCNA R&S, Security or equivalent certifications
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies
Routing (BGP), Switching, Security related troubleshooting skills of Cisco platforms
Actual experience in Cisco ASA/FTD Firewall
Desirable
IPS, IPSec VPN, Cisco Anyconnect
Demonstrated knowledge of service framework such as ITIL
Understanding of security standards including PCI-DSS, IDS/IPS, two factor authentications, ISO 27001/2/3 as it relates to network security.
Data Center environments
Cisco ISE Appliance Administration
Google Cloud Platform
Key business requirements and experience
Experience of working in a global organization and with multiple cultures.
Participate in management of Network Vendor relationships driving performance, SLA adherence and cost savings
Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the network's infrastructure design, integration, and operations.
Physical Demands
Rotating shifts
40-hour on-site work week (weekdays) with on-call availability (weekdays/holidays) alternating between team members.
